Westview has gone to the birds!
And to the butterflies, wildflowers, frogs…
We are proud to be part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. This is an award winning education and certification program that helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf. By helping people enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improve efficiency, and minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf operations, the program serves as a vital resource for golf courses.
Environmental Initiatives
It is integral for us at Westview Golf Club to sustainably manage the land, water, wildlife and other natural resources where we work, live and play.
Audubon International recognizes Westview Golf Club for 10 years of certification as an Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary through its commitment to environmental stewardship. Westview Golf Club is one of 858 courses in the world to be designated as a certified ACSP for golf courses.
To achieve and maintain our certification golf courses undergo a rigorous certification program and maintain a high standard of environmental quality in:
- Environmental Planning
- Wildlife & Habitat Management
- Outreach & Education
- Chemical Use Reduction & Safety
- Water Conservation
- Water Quality Management
We are currently enrolled in the Monarchs In the Rough program. The Monarch butterfly population has declined by more than 90 percent over the last two decades. Audubon International and The Environmental Defense Fund have teamed together to create this program. We have committed to restore pollinator habitats in out-of-play areas and are in the process of naturalizing and planting two acres of milkweed seed. We are working to create essential habitats for butterflies and other wildlife.
